The Pioneer Exclusive M4a, released in Japan in 1981 during the Japanese “Golden Era” of high-fidelity audiophile equipment, is a sleek, high-performance stereo power amplifier with a phenomenal reputation. Although the face of this amp appears basic, the circuitry is exceptional, with pure Class A operation and a rated output power of 50 W per channel (8 ohms). The amp layout is an input stage of a differential amplifier, driving a push-pull pre-drive stage, into a final stage of 4x parallel (8 total) power transistors per channel. Without notching or crossover distortion, the SNR and signal purity is exceptional. The low-frequency region and time-domain performance are both excellent with this amp. By virtue of its high build quality and outstanding sound, the Pioneer Exclusive M4a is a very well-regarded unit among audio fans.
This unit is in very good condition, with a few signs of age and use, including some small scratches and dents on the wood paneling and some small scratches and dirt overall (please see photos). This amplifier has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, who has confirmed its integrity and working condition.
